Public Events in Kisan Swaraj Sammelan which do not require prior registration

The 5th Kisan Swaraj Sammelan of ASHA-Kisan Swaraj network in collaboration with Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) and other organisers in Mysuru on November 11 to 13, 2022 has several public events, which do not require prior registration. However, prior booking is encouraged especially for the Urban Gardening workshops that are on offer from experts.

Seed Diversity Festival – Around 65 seed savers from 18 states of India, with more than 2000 varieties of various crops on display – b/w 11am to 8pm on Day 1 & 2 – b/w 11am to 4pm on Day 3

Roots & Tubers Festival, including Uncultivated Foods, displayed in 10 stalls – b/w 11am to 8pm on Day 1 & 2 – b/w 11am to 4pm on Day 3

Banana Diversity Festival, with around 80 varieties on display

Urban Gardening Workshops – Hands-on knowledge- and skill-building sessions, led by experts like Dr K Ramakrishnappa of Belavala Foundation & GoK’s Jaivik Krishak Society and Dr Padma Sudarshan of Farmer’s House

(Cotton Yarn) Spinning & Natural Dyeing Workshops, led by Shri KJ Sachidananda of Mysore Spinners’ Group, Tula, Janapada Seva Trust and Gram Sewa Mandal

Pottery workshop – Shri Venkatesh of Doora Village

Handmade Soap-Making Workshop by Shri Alur Murthy

Organic Seed Production Demo by Shri Keshav Murthy & Shri Manju KS, Sahaja Seeds

Interaction with consumers on Nov. 13th 2022 (11.30am), led by Namdu/Farmers’ House/Prakriti/Greenpeace India on Organic Food consumption and related issues

All cultural events in the evenings during dinner time and before public lecture/town-hall discussion

Town Hall Discussion on “Agro-Ecology in India” and Public Lecture on “Economic Security for all Farm Households” on Day 1 and Day 2 evenings at 6.30pm
